Relight Donates 2000 Masks to Midwife Collective
Dan Lafferty, the president of Relight, along with his wife Jill, are expecting their first child in July. They have been in contact with a Midwives Collective to assist in the birth. In early April, when they found out the organization couldn’t secure the PPE supplies it needs to help deliver babies during the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to act. Relight was able to acquire 2000 masks from oversees and quickly provide them to their midwives.
“The demand for PPE is high right now, but the supply is low. We searched our supply chains for masks and were able to donate enough boxes of masks to supply each midwife with 100 masks each, to protect themselves and their clients from the coronavirus. This is a stressful time for all of us, and we were happy to help where we could,” says Dan.
The Midwives Collective works with families from early on in pregnancy with followup until six weeks after a baby is born. They offer midwife access (including two midwives per delivery) 24/7, 365 days a year, so they need to have a continuous supply of PPE.
A representative of the collective said, “The masks arrived, and we have distributed among our team. I cannot tell you enough how much we all appreciate this. I truly believe these acts will change the energy on the planet. Thank you so much!”
